How it works

One run, start to finish.

Keep scrolling and the phone plays it out: a screenshot, a few spots, a head start, taps in another app, and a volume button to end it.

    Take a screenshot of any app.

    Open AutoTap and capture the screen you want tapped: this one, another app after a short countdown, or a screenshot you already have in Photos.

  2. 2Spots

    Put spots where your finger would go.

    Tap the screenshot to drop numbered spots. AutoTap works through them in order, and any spot can be a tap, a hold or a swipe.

  3. 3Pace

    Set the pace.

    Up to 20 taps a second. Stop after 100 taps, after a minute, after five, or never. Choose a head start long enough to switch apps.

  4. 4Start

    Press Start, then switch apps.

    The head start counts down on your screenshot. Open the app you want tapped before it reaches zero.

    AutoTap taps. In any app.

    Common questions.

    How is this different from auto clickers on the App Store?

    Apps from the App Store aren’t allowed to touch other apps, so their auto clickers only tap inside themselves, usually in a built-in browser. AutoTap is installed from your computer and connects the way Xcode does, so its taps reach any app on your iPhone.

    Do I need to jailbreak my iPhone or iPad?

    No. AutoTap is a regular app, signed with your own Apple Account and installed from your computer.

    Does it work on iPad?

    Yes. AutoTap runs on iPad with iPadOS 27 or later, in portrait or landscape. Setup is the same: plug it into your Mac or PC and run AutoTap Setup.

    How do I stop a run?

    Press either volume button, from any app. Locking the phone stops it too, and so does the Stop button on the notification AutoTap shows while it runs. Every run also stops on its own after 30 minutes unless you ask for longer.

    Why does setup need a computer?

    Your iPhone or iPad only lets a computer it trusts install AutoTap and turn on the developer services it uses to tap, including Developer Mode, which Setup shows you how to switch on. After that, everything happens on your iPhone, and it stays set up through restarts.

    Can I set it up from Windows?

    Yes, on Windows 10 or 11. Install Apple Devices from the Microsoft Store first so your PC can see your iPhone or iPad, then run AutoTap Setup. On a Mac, any Mac with macOS 11 or later works, Apple silicon or Intel.

    What is LocalDevVPN?

    A free app on the App Store. AutoTap reaches your iPhone’s developer services through it, so open it and tap Connect before you start a run.

    How long does it last?

    Apps signed with a free Apple Account run for seven days. Renew AutoTap from its Settings on your iPhone whenever you like.

    Can it swipe as well as tap?

    Yes. Any spot can be a swipe, and the presets in Explore scroll Reels, TikTok and Shorts for you.

    My Mac won’t open AutoTap Setup.

    Apps from outside the App Store need one extra step the first time. Open AutoTap Setup, then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
